My name is Julia Dinu, a world traveled architect and interior designer. My view on the world of design is shaped during my continuous travels around the world.
I have visited almost 100 countries until now on 5 continents, experienced hundreds of cities and islands both as tourist and as local, creating an inclusive and a more broader understanding of the built environment and its impact on our daily lives and our planet.

MY WORK
In my 7 years experience as an architect I’ve worked on several hospitality, residential and mixed-use projects and I’ve discovered my passion for both functionality and interior design.
As a freelance Designer my most exciting project is the conversion of a historical canal house in the heart of Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Sourcing local is my mission towards a more sustainable design. Working with shops, ateliers, restaurateurs, ingenious furniture start-ups and vintage design trade shows like Design Icons is part of my process.
MY WAY
As a freelancer my most exciting project was the conversion of a historical canal house in the heart of Amsterdam. From a not so functional, 5 stories, 17 century narrow house transforming into a hospitality business and home for its new owner.
Making sure accessibility needs are met, a new hallway is added and two stories are designed in two different accommodation areas. All furniture and design items are hand picked or made to measure to fit the design. Using both vintage treasures and new pieces helps to create a special atmosphere with an emphasis on the house’s historical elements.
